Standard Liege forward Imoh Ezekiel could choose Belgium instead of committing his international future to Nigeria.
If media reports in Belgium are to be believed the 20-year old would prefer to play for Belgium instead of the Super Eagles at the 2014 World Cup.
This after Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi picked him as part of his squad to face Mexico in an international friendly on March 5.
According to Belgiam media Het Laatste Nieuws, the House of Representatives have not sheltered Ezekiel’s case regarding his application for a Belgian passport after a first refusal.
The report further stated that the lower house will review its decision on Thursday and make recommendations thereafter – a verdict that could see him get the nod of fulfilling his dreams of representing Belgium.
The player has spent the last two years in Belgium and theoretically does not qualify for a residence permit, a prerequisite for the issuance of a Belgian passport.
Ezekiel was born in Lagos and first played for 36 Lion football club in Lagos before moving to Standard Liège in 2012.
