Labaran Maku is seen as the defector leader of the PDP in the state and better still he is an Eggon man. The Eggons are the largest tribe in Nassarawa State but have never produce a governor for the state, despite their population and high level of education. The state is being governed by an APC governor and many believe that for the PDP to get the state back is will need somebody in the like Labaran Maku.
NYESOM WIKE; Before now, the name Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike did not ring a bell to many Nigerians, particularly Rivers people. A few people who are acquainted with the politics of Rivers State may have only associated him with the politics of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area where he held forte as council chairman for two tenures from 1999 to 2007. But overnight, Chief Wike became a household name in the state as Chief of Staff to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. After the emergence of President Goodluck Jonathan, Wike was appointed Minister of State in the Federal Ministry of Education. Now, his name is all over the nation as a co-pilot, driving the transformation agenda Jonathan in the education sector. Today, he is one of the most sought after politicians in Rivers state. What makes Chief Wike tick and endears him to his numerous supporters is his ability to carry them along, identifying with them in times of joy and sorrow, need and want. ONYEBUCHI CHUKWU; Professor C. O. Onyebuchi Chukwu, a distinguished academic, health administrator and a renowned orthopedic and trauma surgeon is the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Born on 22nd of April 1962 in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. He hails from Afikpo in Afikpo North L. G. A. of Ebonyi State. He has held several administrative and managerial positions in the public service before becoming the current minister for health. his antecedents and his commitment to hard work have often spurred him to greater heights, and that his track records are credentials that would enhance his gubernatorial ambition. Like he said recently .“ the first thing is that I have a passion for things to be done properly; I have a passion for individuals and communities to be healthy that’s why I became a doctor. I am someone who is usually committed to an assignment that is given to me and which I have accepted to do. I am also someone who wants things to be done properly.Chukwu had told journalists on record that given the current scenario in the state, he would make himself available for the gubernatorial elections if the need be. But it is almost certain that he will be one of those that will contest of the position of Governor of Ebonyi state in 2015.
EMEKA OWOGU; He is believe to be one of those president men inside Aso Rock .Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Nwogu, is said to be nursing a governorship ambition, and if he decides to run, the Presidency and the leadership of the PDP might be sympathetic and pull vital strings for him. The scenario is likely that President Jonathan’s strategist want those the President can trust to come on board as governors and chief Nwogu is one of those trusted men.
ABBA MORO ; Before his appointment as minister, Comrade Moro was a household name in activism and Benue politics. He was Executive Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government Area and Chairman, ALGON, Benue State Chapter between 1998 and 2006. Always decked in green khaki fatigue and sporting a Fidel Castro type of mocking beard to buttress his progressive leaning, he delivered concrete developmental deliverables to the grass roots with strict adherence to due process. In one of his public outings in Benue State he declared: ‘‘The temptation to loot the treasury is high but we must resist it for there is great wisdom in service to the people who have reposed enormous confidence in us”. – As the clamour for Benue State governor of Idoma extraction gathered momentum, he resigned from his seat and threw his hat into the governorship ring in 2006. He came third in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,primary election after Governor Gabriel Suswam and the former super perm sec, Chief Mike Onoja, respectively. His impact was so profound that the late President Umaru Yar’Adua appointed him Benue State Coordinator of his presidential campaign, and having served as the Campaign Director General of the Senate President, Chief David Mark as well it is believe that he has what it takes to contest again to become the next governor of Benue state and this time with the support of the Presidency .
OLAJUMOKE AKINJIDE; Born on the 4th August, 1959, the FCT Minister of State, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, is the third amongst female Ministers of State of the Federal Capital Territory. She assumed duty on Tuesday, 12th July, 2011.The minister, who is the daughter of the Second Republic Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Richard Akinjide, She has vowed to remain in the PDP to work for the success of the president, the Transformation Agenda, and the party at future polls even as her husband moved to APCsaying: “I will never leave the PDP”. She is belief to making her way to the oyo state government house in a rather quite manner given the trouble nature of the party in oyo state. Akinjide is well educated and has the solid backing of her father, and she could also count on the support of former Governor Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala who is rumored to have nominated her for the present position she now enjoys. OMONIYI CALEB OLUBOLADE
Navy Captain Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade was born on 30 November 1954 at Ipoti-Ekiti in Ijero LGA of Ekiti State. He was the former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, Nigeria during the military government of General Sani Abacha. He was first appointed Minister of Special Duties on 6 April 2010, whenGoodluck Jonathan became President.In April 2006, Olubolade was briefly arrested during a House of Representatives by-election in the Ekiti South II Federal Constituency. He was an aspirant to become Action Congress (AC) candidate for governor of Ekiti State in the April 2007 elections.But he later in 2006 he defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was appointed Chairman of the Ekiti State Project Monitoring Committee by Governor Segun Oni.He has also serve as Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, before his present Position as Minister for Police Affairs. He join the race to become the next governor of Ekiti State as an aspirant under PDP in the 2014 election and speaking about his contesting with others he said“I acknowledge the fact that other aspirants are qualified as well, but there are parameters that will be needed as advantages to win the election. It is not just to be qualified for a job; you must be eminently qualified to surmount the obstacles for the job”.
Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Godsday Orubebe, had to brush aside a series of corruption allegations dangling around his neck to publicly declare his intention and preparedness to run for the office of the Delta State governor in the 2015 election.In making his intension public, he stated the fact that he is relying on this ethnic group,(the Ijaws) to see him to Government House Asaba and made it clear that ethnicity would be given priority in determining the state’s next governor. “It is the turn of the Ijaw people to produce the next governor of Delta State,” Mr. Orubebe stated.He insisted further “I must say categorically that all the ethnic nationalities of this state must have a taste of the governorship of this state,” Mr. Orubebe said. “Urhobo people have gotten it, Itsekiri have gotten it, Ndokwa has not gotten it, Ijaw has not gotten it, Isoko has not gotten it. And so we are appealing to others that, this is the turn of the Ijaw people. We are appealing that it is the turn of the Ijaw people now because all the ethnic groups must have a taste.

Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Yerima Ngama, is also seeking to be Yobe State Governor in 2015.
