FMC Director Seeks Upgrade ForKeffi Hospital

The Project Director, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Professor Abdulsalami Nasidi has called on the Federal Government through Federal Ministry of Health to elevate Federal Medical Centre Keffi in Nasarawa State to the status of a University Teaching Hospital, he as well recommended the Centre’s Medical Director Dr. Joshua Ndom Giyan for a national honour. Nasidi, who made the observation while addressing journalists at the hospital recently, said with the availability of modern facilities ranging from equipments, structures and manpower in the centre, there is need for its elevation to the status of University Teaching Hospital. When asked to commend about the hospital in general after inspecting the facilities, he said, “This is phenomenal and fantastic. This is what they call revolution. From what I know of this place before, which within a short period of time has been transformed 100% is unbelievable. “I will definitely recommend Dr. Joshua Giyan the Medical Director to Mr. President for a national honour and at the same time forward a request to consider the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi to be one of the centres for research among the institutes in Nigerian Centre for Disease Control”. In his response, the paramount chief thanked both associations for the visitation, assuring them that his door is always open as such they can always come to him for fatherly advice or otherwise. “I call on you all to continue to be law abide citizen of Nasarawa State and the country at large in order to enhance peace, unity and encourage development in our communities” HRH Jatau stressed.
