UNN ASUU Sacks Secretary Over Secret Meeting With VC!

A panel headed by a senior academic, Professor Damian Opata, Head of Department of English, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has authorized the sack of the Secretary of the University branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Aaron Agbo, on Tuesday after being accused of having an unauthorized and secret negotiation with the University administration over the current demonstrations for the re-instatement of suspended pro-chancellor, Dr Emeka Enejere.

Dr. Aaron Agbo, has held the post for a year before the incident, and other colleagues opted for this action, after he using his position, issued a notice instructing lecturers not to join the other four protesting unions, which includes; National Association of Academic Technicians, NAAT; Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, Enugu Campus; and Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, Nsukka Campus operating as Joint Action Committee, JAC.

The JAC resumed their suspended demonstrations on Monday, as they seek the recall of the Pro-chancellor, Dr Emeka Enejere.

Unknown to them, Dr Agbo had gone to a meeting reportedly called by the Hiding Vice Chancellor, Professor Bartho  Okolo, at Enugu campus in an attempt to negotiate with the staff.
