Full academic activities have resumed at the University of Jos, following the resolution of a disagreement between the institution’s management and its chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The disagreement, it was gathered was over the payment of allowances which ASUU said did not get to all members in full. The union, therefore, encouraged its members to stay away from classes despite the suspension of the nationwide strike by the national leadership of ASUU.
Speaking to liveschoolnews.com.ng yesterday, the university’s Deputy Registrar, Information & Publications, Steve Otowo said the disagreement had been resolved and that full academic activities have commenced.
Chairman of the university’s chapter of ASUU, Dr David Jangkam, confirmed the development and urged his colleagues to resume work.
