Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are locked in a transfer duel for teenage striker Musa Yahaya, who has been labelled the ‘Nigerian Neymar’.
The 16-year-old Golden Eaglets forward impressed when Nigeria won the Under-17 World Cup in November and scouts from across Europe have handed a string of positive reports to their clubs in the subsequent two months.
His silky skills and prowess in front of goal have drawn comparisons with Barcelona and Brazil star Neymar.
City appear to be in a strong position to seal his signature, as they are on the brink of buying his international team-mates Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali.
But reports in Nigeria suggest that Spurs are also in the race and are believed to be City’s closest competitors to secure Yahaya’s services.
Golden Eaglets are likely to receive an initial fee of at least £400,000 for the striker.
