Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has welcomed the support President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was receiving from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
This followed a visit by CAN President of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor to the Christian leader’s residence in Warri during the festive season.
“I want to also emphasize what you have been doing at the National level as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, strongly and prayerfully you have been supporting the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in accordance with the Scriptural injunction.
“That is the current administration today and you are showing as the President of CAN that once there is somebody on the seat, the person must be supported prayerfully and the person must be counseled from time to time. I know people have misunderstood this position and misinterpreted it but since you are doing God’s work, you know that God will also guide you,” said Uduaghan.
He said Oritsejafor made great sacrifice, sometimes at the risk of his life working with the State Government to restore peace to the state.
“People like the CAN’s President put in a lot of hard work and prayers for the prevailing peace in the state,” said the governor.
Oritsejafor thanked the governor for the visit.
“Your (governor’s) humility stands you out for you are a humble man and anybody who does not recognize that is being mischievous. Because of your (Dr Uduaghan’s) disposition to people, God has always given you help and I believe strongly, Delta State will remember you, Nigeria will always remember you,” Oritsejiafor said.
Accompanying the governor, the Member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Daniel Reyenieju, and other top government officials also praised the CAN President for supporting the administration of President Jonathan.
